You have decided on a beach wedding in Spain! Why wouldn’t you? Andalucia has so much to offer for a luxury beach wedding, not only do we have beautiful beaches, but many luxury hotels, amazing Haciendas, and fabulous Fincas. With 320 days sunshine on average each year, that’s approximately 3,000 hours of sunshine, you are sure to have the perfect day.
Your luxury beach wedding
For a beach wedding, there is so much choice. All along the southern coast from Almuñeca to Estepona, we have some stunning beaches with private villas and amazing beach clubs just perfect for your special day, the only difficulty you will have is choosing!
Tip #1 Summer beach wedding?
The average daily temperature in April is 22ºC or 70ºF rising daily as we head towards Summer. As I write this in August sitting in the mountains east of Malaga, it’s a hot 48ºC or 118ºF at my local beach. Holding a beach wedding in July and August will mean you need to think about the time of day you hold your ceremony. You could choose to hold it at sunrise, and afterwards enjoy a sumptuous breakfast with your guests or, as many choose to do, have an evening ceremony at 6-7 p.m. and get some amazing photographs as the sun is setting.

Tip #2 Formal wedding dress & suit?
For a Summer beach wedding I would always recommend for the ladies, something loose, flowing and less formal, silk is always a great choice, and for the men, something in a light natural material, and definitely stay away from a suit with a jacket. Believe me, you will not want to be wearing tight-fitting, formal clothing on the beach, and don’t forget to let your guests know your dress code as you will want them to be comfortable too.

Yes, you will definitely need to cover your feet on the beach, in the summer the sand heats up and it’s impossible to walk on. So, something flat with a little bit of bling will keep your feet feeling, and looking super cool as you walk towards your loved one waiting for you down by the water’s edge. With your wedding planner, you may choose to have a runner you can walk on, this can be covered with sand where you will stand for the ceremony. Not only will it be cooler for you to stand on, but you can also be barefoot and wiggle your toes into the sand!
Tip #3 Wedding Guests
You will want to consider the needs of your guests, young children and elderly are more easily affected by the heat, so you may want to think about shade for them. Speak to your wedding planner, this is what they do, they plan and style beach weddings throughout the year and will be able to give ideas and suggestions for their comfort. A little handheld fan, lace for the ladies, plain for the men or perhaps a paper parasol, a little thought such as this will go a long way to keeping your guests cool and they are a lovely keepsake for them to take away, these can be obtained to match the theme of your wedding.

My Top Tip of all!
For your destination beach wedding in Spain, I would always recommend you to employ a local wedding planner to help you plan your wedding. They not only know the area extremely well, but they also work with trusted suppliers and will be able to give you recommendations on venues, florists, hairdressers, photographers, and caterers for your chosen destination. They will ensure you have the correct permissions for a beach wedding as don’t forget, there are no private beaches in Spain. However, your planner will be able to tell you where the more secluded and best places for a beach wedding are!
