Seville

Seville is a beautiful city and forms part of the larger autonomous community which is Andalucía.  So why is it such a great destination for a wedding?  Well apart from the fact is a most beautiful city, it’s full of historical places to visit.  The question is where would you like to hold your wedding ceremony?  Would you like a Hacienda full of Andalucian history and tradition as backdrop to your wedding? Then read on.

History of Seville

Seville dates back to 8th century BC so as you can imagine it’s the place to visit if you love history.  The Royal Alcázar Palace is a UNESCO  World Heritage Site and the oldest royal palace still in use in Europe.  It’s one of the most popular venues couples love to go to for their photographs after their ceremony.  So wherever you hold your ceremony, you get to have some amazing photographs at the Royal Alcázar Palace.

Things to do in Seville

Seville is the capital of Andalucía and is said to be the birth place of Flamenco, with the Royal Alcázar Palace, the La Giralda Tower as well as the cathedral, there are many places of interest to visit and things to do in Seville.  They have the flamenco museum where they have interactive exhibitions and they also put on shows so do check them out.

Hacienda San Miguel de Montelirio

Seville has many beautiful venues, Hacienda San Miguel de Montelirio is not just a top wedding venue in Seville, it is full of history.  The Hacienda is located 15km from the Centre of Seville, around 10-15 minutes from Seville City Centre and 18km from the airport.

History of the Hacienda

This history of this Hacienda is that it started life as a Jesuit Hospice, much of the original buildings remain, having been refurbished without the loss of any of their original charm.

How many guests?

They cater for all wedding sizes and have room for up to 500+ people, how many guests will you have?  The favourite part for me is the antique coach salon where you and your guests can drink Champagne and nibble on canapes whilst surrounded by 200 of the most enchanting antique horse carriages.  They are considered to be the finest collection in Europe, oh and although the invitation says Carriages at, you won’t be taking one of those home!

Season

Seville in the summer can be very hot, temperatures can reach 45ºC or 113ºF so if you are thinking of a wedding in July or August, you will need to keep this in mind.  If you are looking at a traditional white dress, something in silk and loose fitting would be perfect.  Seville in Spring and Autumn is amazing, and an evening wedding, dining in the gardens with a guitar playing in the background as the sun sets, is a dream come true, what could be more romantic?

I hope this has given you some inspiration, this is one of the most amazing larger venues in Spain, a top wedding venue in Seville. Look out for my next blog which will be about more intimate weddings and venues.
